Born in Houston, Texas and raised in many places around the United States and Canada, George is privileged to have lived in many different climates and experienced many different lifescapes. He now resides in beautiful Juniata County, Pennsylvania, where God has manifested His beauty all around. George has always been surrounded by art. His grandmother was a terrific watercolorist, his father a wildlife painter. As a senior in high school he designed a student union building for his school as an independent study project. He attended college at SUNY, Plattsburgh, New York, and graduated from William Paterson College (now University) with a B.A. in art. George's undergraduate studies were focused mainly on sculpture and kinetic art. His college sculpture courses made a way for his photography, he says, which made a way for his painting. After college he worked for a fragrance and flavors company in the fragrance laboratory. He said he would never forget his experience the day he first realized he could "add" two very different aromas in his mind and know what the resulting combination would smell like. It was a very special moment, like learning a new language. That day there was new understanding and with this "breakthrough" these scents become aromatic "sculptures." This wonderful experience enriched his artistic awareness and life. George continued learning more about his artistic interests at The Finishing School in Floral Park, New York and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and the Dundean Studios in Chatham, New Jersey. Trompe l’oeil and mural courses were (and still are) his favorites. His eye for photography and sculpture are a great combination for trompe l’oeil painting. Numerous watercolor classes have been attended by the artist, including one with New Jersey’s talented Burt Longenbach. He has been an associate member of the American Society of Media Photographers. George's background and abilities best lend themselves to the residential market. It is his greatest desire to design and execute engaging ideas with homeowners to give them a unique and very personal artistic expression for their homes. It would be a joy for George to execute this .... perhaps for you! |
